Our Practice in Pinole

As the clinic director of Eye Love Optometry, Dr. Hsieh has built a practice dedicated to the personalized care of each individual, where all relationships are rooted in love, respect, and empathy.

Dr. Hsieh was invited to participate in the Academic Talent Development Program at the University of California, Berkeley, which he completed, with Honors, at the top of his class.  He, then, graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiological Science, while that department was ranked 4th in the nation by the National Research Council.  During that time, Dr. Hsieh earned his place on both the Dean’s and Provost’s Honors Lists and was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Dr. Hsieh earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry, with clinical internships completed at the New York Harbor Health Care System Veteran Affairs Hospital at St. Albans, David Grant Medical Center, and University Eye Center of New York.  During his clinical training with Dr. Murray Fingeret, founder of the American Optometric Glaucoma Society, Dr. Hsieh, in corroboration with the Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital, also conducted research in new technology used in the early detection and monitoring of glaucoma.

Dr. Hsieh has always been thoroughly committed to his ambition of helping others, volunteering in his community as a tutor for inner-city youth, as well as at the UCLA Medical Center.  He finds deep satisfaction in being able to assist those in the community at any stage of life and has built a team of professionals at Eye Love Optometry who share his dedication.

QUIRKY FACT:  Likes to perform classical piano “concerts” for his intently listening shiba inu puppy, Waldo, who sometimes sings along.

Emigrating at age 10 from India to the USA, where she grew up in the East Bay Area, Dr. Sidhu’s journey starts from humble beginnings and exemplifies perseverance through hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.  She earned her Doctorate of Optometry with Honors from the School of Optometry & Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley, while completing her clinical training at the Puget Sound Veterans Affairs Health Center in Seattle, Alameda Community Health Center in Oakland, Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, and at the UC Berkeley Optometry Clinic.

She began her educational journey at Contra Costa Community College and, subsequently, transferred to the University of California, Davis, where she graduated with Honors, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences.  During her time as an undergraduate, Dr. Sidhu conducted research and co-authored a publication in agriculture. Additionally, she has remained an active member of honor societies and volunteer programs.  Dr. Sidhu has completed medical mission trips to Nicaragua and Costa Rica, where she provided health care services to underserved communities. She regularly volunteers at eye clinics across the country to serve low-income populations.

Grounded in her values of community service, Dr. Sidhu is devoted to giving back to the same community that nurtured her.  Her aspiration is to provide exceptional eye care to the residents of the East Bay Area and be diligent in guiding her patients to realize a lifetime of optimal eye health.

QUIRKY FACT:  Dr. Sidhu has a pet turtle who loves eating strawberries.

Catherine ensures that each and every individual’s experience at Eye Love Optometry is consistently exceptional. She strives to keep everyone well-informed, believing that knowledge is power, while her friendliness and welcoming nature make all of our patients feel comfortable and at home. Conscientious in being kind and helpful, while fully answering questions of patients to their satisfaction, you will be feel well cared for and attended to by her.

QUIRKY FACT: In her downtime, she loves to put on her strawberry-cow-print roller skates and skate to disco and heavy metal music.

Aidan, fondly known as the “Eyewear Whisperer,” has a deep appreciation for eyewear as true works of art.  Along with managing the daily flow and operations of the Eye Love Optometry optical department, Aidan personally selects our unique and vast selection of designer eyewear frames and ophthalmic lenses.  He sets a high standard when it comes to fitting the perfect frame for every face and personality, and he trains all of our optical staff to pursue the same exceptional paradigm.  With Aidan and his team assisting you with your new eyewear selection, you will see and be seen in a whole new light.  Aidan takes deep satisfaction in helping our patients experience the highest level of vision, fashion, and safety.

QUIRKY FACT:  Religiously attends cars and coffee meet-ups and loves to participate in scenic drives through mountain passes.

Allison not only possesses an invaluable appreciation and skill for eyewear styling, she is a fountain of knowledge for all things related to how best to fill various eyeglass prescriptions with the most suitable ophthalmic products.  Allison has a strong understanding of how eyewear impacts our patients’ lives.  She uses her expertise in ophthalmic lens types, materials, and treatments to go above and beyond, educating our patients on why particular lenses yield superior vision, so that they can see and be seen at their absolute best.

QUIRKY FACT:  Loves to exercise her freedom of expression through her hair. Often confused for a pineapple.

Natalie exemplifies the ideal of highly personalized service with her conscientious nature.  Years of experience in customer service, paired with her exceptional compassion for people, has made her presence at Eye Love Optometry indispensable.  She considers it a privilege to be able to help in sharing her expertise and believes that “genuine caring never goes out of fashion,” separating us from everyone else.  Her fun and bubbly nature never fails to bring a smile to everyone’s face.
